Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Civil Infrastructure Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the execution of projects related to civil engineering and construction. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing both design and construction phases of projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong client management skills and a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate and coordinate client meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure alignment with client objectives.
  • Engage in public events and community meetings as required.
  • Prepare and manage proposals and contracts for current and prospective clients.

Communication and Reporting

  • Maintain open lines of communication with department leadership regarding project challenges and opportunities.
  • Regularly interact with technical leaders to discuss project progress and resource needs.
  • Collaborate with department managers to assess staffing requirements.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for multidisciplinary projects.

Management and Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control protocols.
  • Oversee staff development and performance management.
  • Conduct regular project management meetings with team members and clients.
  • Manage resource allocation and staff utilization effectively.
  • Promote a positive departmental culture and engagement within the company.

Performance Evaluation

  • Monitor financial metrics including revenue, project profitability, and accounts receivable.
  • Assess staff development and utilization rates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Significant experience in civil/site engineering within New Jersey.
  • Expertise in site development for commercial projects in urban settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with urban environmental challenges and utility management.
  • Proficient in delivering public presentations.
  • Adept at problem-solving, data collection, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design software is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
A valid NJ Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position may involve fieldwork, exposing the employee to varying weather conditions. The role requires frequent computer use and may include occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
