Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel involved in the receipt, storage, transportation, shipping, transloading, and inventory management of products. This role encompasses a variety of critical tasks aimed at ensuring efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes work protocols, formulates work schedules, and streamlines workflow. Adjusts schedules based on work order requirements, established priorities, and the availability or capability of staff and equipment.
  • Delegates tasks and assesses work for accuracy, organization, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Manages documentation for products to be picked or processed and addresses inquiries related to pick lists, bills of lading, and inventory replenishment.
  • Guides employees on the proper handling of goods received, stored, and shipped, as well as the appropriate use of equipment and related issues.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that prioritizes safety and maintains a clean, organized work environment.
  • Reviews production timelines and collaborates with department supervisors and/or managers to ensure timely shipping of products.
  • Engages with supervisors and other department heads to monitor work progress and provide updates on the timely dispatch of customer products. Ensures coordination of warehouse activities with other departments.
  • Communicates with carriers regarding pick-up schedules and follow-ups.
  • Coordinates workflow for staffing agency associates in the designated area by managing their check-in and check-out processes, demonstrating task requirements, and monitoring individual performance to recommend continued temporary work or potential employment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Warehouse/Yard Management Systems is advantageous.
