Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of personnel involved in the receiving, storage, transportation, shipping, transloading, and inventory management of products. This role encompasses a variety of essential duties aimed at ensuring efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes work protocols, formulates work schedules, and facilitates workflow. Adjusts schedules based on work order requirements, set priorities, and the availability or capabilities of staff and equipment.
  • Delegates tasks and assesses work for accuracy, organization, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Distributes necessary documentation for product picking or processing and addresses inquiries related to pick lists and inventory management.
  • Guides team members on the handling of goods received, stored, and dispatched; proper equipment usage; and related issues.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that prioritizes safety; ensures a clean, organized, and orderly workspace.
  • Analyzes production schedules and related data, collaborating with department supervisors and/or managers to establish timelines that guarantee timely product shipment.
  • Engages with supervisors and other department heads to monitor work progress and provide updates on the timely dispatch of customer products. Collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
  • Communicates with carriers regarding pick-up schedules and follow-ups.
  • Oversees the workflow of staffing agency associates in the designated area by managing their check-in and check-out processes, demonstrating task execution, and evaluating individual performance to recommend continued temporary employment or potential permanent positions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); five years of relevant experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Warehouse/Yard Management Systems is advantageous.
