Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of staff involved in the receiving, storage, transportation, shipping, transloading, and inventory management of products, ensuring efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes work procedures, develops work schedules, and streamlines workflow. Adjusts schedules based on work order requirements, established priorities, and the availability or capabilities of personnel and equipment.
  • Delegates tasks and evaluates work for accuracy, organization, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Distributes necessary documentation for product handling and addresses inquiries related to pick lists and inventory management.
  • Guides team members on the proper handling of goods received, stored, and shipped, as well as the correct use of equipment and related issues.
  • Conducts operations with a focus on safety, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Reviews production timelines and collaborates with department supervisors and managers to ensure timely shipping of products.
  • Engages with supervisors and other department heads to assess work progress and provide updates on the timely dispatch of customer orders. Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
  • Communicates with carriers regarding pick-up schedules and follow-up actions.
  • Oversees the workflow of staffing agency associates in the designated area by managing their check-in and check-out processes, demonstrating tasks, and monitoring their performance to provide feedback for continued employment consideration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Warehouse/Yard Management Systems is advantageous.
