Role Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is tasked with executing packing, shipping, receiving, and associated activities to ensure the prompt management of materials and products. This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and is classified as hourly, non-exempt.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receive items post-inspection and package them according to established counting and packing protocols. Report any defects found during the packing process to the group leader or quality control.
  2. Process shipping orders and directives from sales. Retrieve items from inventory, select and prepare cartons, and organize materials for efficient palletizing or crating. Utilize a label maker for labeling and prepare cartons for dispatch. May operate shrink wrap or banding machinery. Verify counts and compile bills of lading.
  3. Review shipping orders, confirm counts, and load vehicles. Operate both manual and powered material handling equipment. Secure the driver's signature and monitor shipping supplies, notifying superiors when reordering is necessary. May drive a vehicle for parcel collection or delivery.
  4. Utilize material handling equipment to unload raw materials, products, and supplies from trucks. Count and verify materials against the bill of lading, signing for receipt. Document discrepancies and report them to the group leader. Organize and store materials in designated locations.
  5. Operate lift trucks, hand trucks, pallet movers, and similar equipment. Lift and transport items while adhering to safe lifting practices. Follow safety protocols when securing, lifting, and moving items. Ensure items are stored securely to prevent shifting or falling. Charge lift trucks nightly and report any equipment issues to the group leader.
  6. Adhere to safety standards and regulations, wearing required personal protective equipment. Maintain a tidy work environment and engage in safety initiatives.
  7. Keep accurate records related to packing, shipping instructions, and P.O.P.S. Review documentation, alert superiors, or take corrective measures to uphold quality and production standards.
  8. May operate a company vehicle for the collection or delivery of items.
  9. Suggest improvements and participate in training sessions. Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 1 year of experience in packing, material handling, shipping, receiving, or lift truck operations.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and lift/move items weighing up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Any other equivalent combination of training and experience is acceptable.
