Compensation: $33.50 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sous Chef in a healthcare environment, you will play a vital role in enhancing and broadening your culinary skills. Working alongside the Executive Chef, you will assist in shaping the overall strategy and guidance for food preparation, employing systematic approaches, standardized recipes, portion management, menu creation, and procurement needs.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring client and customer satisfaction through exceptional food production.
  • Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including management, clients, customers, and team members.
  • Following directives from the Executive Chef or Food Service Director.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to recipes for all food items.
  • Conducting precise inventory counts in all food storage areas, practicing FIFO (First In, First Out) in designated sections.
  • Producing menu items according to established timelines.
  • Upholding all HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) standard operating procedures.
  • Labeling all prepared items with essential details, including item descriptions, preparation dates, use-by dates, and preparer's initials.
  • Executing various cooking and preparation techniques on proteins, vegetables, starches, and other ingredients within the designated time frames to meet service requirements.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare, senior living, or high-volume environments.
  • A Culinary Arts degree or equivalent professional training is advantageous.
  • Experience in a professional kitchen setting, with a preference for expertise in scratch cooking.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including various software applications, Microsoft Office, email, and internet navigation.
  • ServSafe Certification is required.
  • Candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable state laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documentation for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
