Position Overview
SAIC is in search of an Electronics Technician I to join our team. This role is essential for the upkeep and enhancement of various electronic systems.
The Electronics Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, and installation of a wide range of electronic devices, including transmitting and receiving systems such as radar, radio, television, telecommunications, sonar, and navigational aids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical expertise in electronics to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in restoring equipment functionality.
- Assess the performance and dependability of both prototype and production models.
- Propose modifications to circuitry or installation standards to enhance assembly and maintenance processes.
The Electronics Technician applies foundational technical knowledge to execute straightforward or routine tasks by adhering to detailed Work Instructions and/or Technical Drawing Packages. Responsibilities include integrating, assembling, and/or replacing components, wiring circuits, and conducting tests using standard instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Formal training in electronics from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or completion of a four (4) year electronics apprenticeship program. This training should encompass Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Connector Assembly/Repair.
- A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in Electronics Repair, Maintenance, and Checkout, including supervisory roles and shop practices. Note: Experience may overlap.
- Must be a US Citizen with the capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
