Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Server to join our team at the Westin Portland Harborview. As a Lead Server, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service and a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Prepare and present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations to guests.
  • Manage tables, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and handling payments.
  • Supervise and train servers, ensuring they are providing excellent service and meeting expectations.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, floors, and restrooms.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
  • Manage cash and credit transactions, including handling cash, credit card payments, and making change.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a hotel or restaurant environment preferred.
  • TiPS certification required; will be provided by the hotel within the first month of employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, servers, and kitchen staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
