Facilities Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Manager to oversee all building-related activities for a growing organization. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of our facilities and ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and well-functioning. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc.) and refurbishments to maintain a high level of facility quality.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations, using a checklist to document assessment.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs through energy-efficient practices.
  • Supervise all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers, etc.) and external contractors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Control activities such as parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, and other related tasks.
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs as needed and engage appropriate vendors for major repairs.
  • Allocate office space according to needs and oversee preparation of site for special events.
  • Handle insurance plans and service contracts to ensure optimal coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and implement process improvements.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a facilities manager or relevant position, with a strong track record of success.
  • Well-versed in operations and facilities management best practices, with knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles to manage budgets and costs effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple priorities and teams.
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills to identify opportunities for improvement.

Experience:

Three years' experience in facility operations, maintenance, or facilities administration, with a strong understanding of facility management principles and practices.
