Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Preferred Primary Care Physicians, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical practice setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nurses with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks
  • Escort patients to and from exam or treatment rooms as needed
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and reason for visit
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by the physician
  • Answer and return patient phone calls, and handle other patient telephone calls as directed
  • Obtain patient record information, lab data, diagnostics, consults, and other necessary data for assessment of the patient's medical status
  • Assist with exams and procedures as requested
  • Prepare, maintain, and stock exam and treatment rooms, and order supplies as needed
  • Process instruments and equipment as needed
  • Inform physician of patient reschedule or no-shows
  • Assist with delegated patient education activities, including distributing educational literature
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medical assisting
  • Six (6) months of medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred
