Job Summary:

The Dietitian Specialist 2-TPN/VAD will play a crucial role in supporting Loma Linda University's strategic plan and mission to provide exceptional patient care. Under the supervision of the Manager-Clinical Nutrition, this individual will complete consults and nutrition assessments for patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutrition. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinate patient care. Key responsibilities include providing education to patients and family members, attending patient care rounds, and participating in Performance Improvement reviews. Additionally, this role will involve precepting and mentoring other clinical dietitians, as well as serving as an educator and mentor for specialized clinical nutrition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and be able to communicate effectively with others. Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD) and Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) within one year of hire are required.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete consults and nutrition assessments for patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutrition
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinate patient care
  • Provide education to patients and family members on parenteral and enteral nutrition
  • Attend patient care rounds and participate in Performance Improvement reviews
  • Precept and mentor other clinical dietitians
  • Serve as an educator and mentor for specialized clinical nutrition
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school with a Bachelor or Master's degree in nutrition-related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nutrition experience
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical nutrition in the area of specialty
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD) and Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) within one year of hire
