Job Summary

As a Lead Transportation Security Officer with the Transportation Security Administration, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation's transportation infrastructure and ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. This position is located at a major airport, where you will be responsible for leading a team of Transportation Security Officers and ensuring the effective implementation of security screening procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of Transportation Security Officers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of security screening procedures.
  • Security Screening: Implement security screening procedures in accordance with TSA objectives and directives, ensuring the safety and security of passengers and employees.
  • Incident Response: Respond to breaches of security and emergency situations, taking prompt and effective action to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Training and Development: Train and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of security screening procedures and to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience in security work, aviation screener work, or X-ray technician work.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in security work, including experience in frontline security protection of air travelers, airports, and airplanes.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments in emergency situations.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to security screening equipment and procedures. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to work in a variety of environments, including airports and other transportation hubs.
