Job Description

In this role, you will play a critical part in Ford Motor Company's transition from a manufacturer of vehicles to a producer of digital experiences and brand-enhancing services.

This position will be a key member of the team engineering and integrating high-performance automotive speaker systems for future generations of vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal cross-functional efforts to develop and maintain speaker integration requirements/specifications based on acoustic and automotive development principles.
  • Be a resource for model engineering teams in support of component integration, program delivery, and issue resolution.
  • Support the modeling & simulation, technical specification, development, and validation of high-performance automotive speaker systems and layouts/architectures.
  • Develop test and design verification processes for speaker components and speaker systems.
  • Interface with key internal and external cross-functional stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Verify complete products for conformance to design specifications, operational, and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in automotive audio and acoustics.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for continuous improvement/benchmarking initiatives in automotive speaker systems & quality processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with experience in speaker integration and speaker system definition.
  • 3+ years of experience in design, development, and delivery of automotive speaker components, systems, and acoustics.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive engineering, acoustic principles, speaker construction, and vehicle integration.
  • 3+ years of experience in acoustic simulation & analysis, FEA/BEA, and 3D CAD software.

Even better, you may have a Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, a passion for automotive audio systems, particularly speakers and vehicle acoustics, excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
