Automotive Technician Specialist

At Optimal CAE, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and thorough inspections of vehicles to meet company standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct routine maintenance and thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory compliance.
- Diagnostic and Repair: Efficiently manage and complete work orders, including diagnosing and resolving vehicle issues using sophisticated diagnostic tools.
- Data Collection and Communication: Document and maintain data collection from vehicles and communicate findings to engineers.
- Component Installation and Removal: Remove, replace, and install vehicle components, including trims, parts, and modules, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and quality.
- Wiring and Cable Installation: Install and modify wiring and cables for various vehicle systems.
- Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Collaborate with engineering teams to install, test, and calibrate new equipment and systems, providing technical support and insights.
- Vehicle Presentation and Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all vehicles, ensuring they are clean and well-kept both internally and externally.
- Record-Keeping and Maintenance Scheduling: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations using computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel to track vehicle histories and maintenance schedules.
- Technical Support and Training: Assist engineers with technical tasks and project execution, acting as a supportive liaison between maintenance and engineering departments. Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled team.
- Safety Protocols and Work Environment: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Experience: 3+ years' experience as an automotive technician, with a proven track record in vehicle maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations.
- Education: High school diploma.
- Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in using automotive diagnostic tools and familiar with mechanical and electronic systems. Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in demanding conditions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Advanced Certification or Degree: Advanced certification or degree in Automotive Technology.
- Computer Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively use computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, for record-keeping and reporting.
- Technical Documentation and Schematics: Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, capable of effective collaboration and information exchange across different teams. Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
