Clinical Educator Role

At the University of New Mexico, we are seeking a skilled Clinical Educator to lead our team in providing exceptional patient care and education. As a master instructor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based research in specialized nursing areas, collaborating with colleagues to plan curricula, and delivering direct patient care when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver educational programs to promote professional development and stay current with the latest literature
  • Identify and address potential patient safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Empower patients to take an active role in their care and treatment decisions
  • Develop patient care plans based on research and national standards
  • Monitor trends and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to design and implement educational programs
  • Train staff on new equipment, supplies, and instruments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 18 months of relevant experience
  • Active RN license
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 90 days
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course completion within 6 months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year
