We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide direct patient care, lead clinical teams, and contribute to the development of our Clinical Advancement Program.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans.
- Lead clinical teams and assume relief charge duties as designated, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of our Clinical Advancement Program, working towards one of five CAP levels that offer increasing compensation.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
Education:
- Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Nursing
Experience:
- Essential: No minimum experience required
- Nonessential: Bilingual English/Spanish
Credentials:
- Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- Nonessential: Nationally Certified in area of specialty, PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials require PPE.
