Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. in a Winter Seasonal - Full/Part Time position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tend bar in a high-volume dining restaurant, serving both bar patrons and wait staff.
  • Mix, pour, and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables.
  • Keep work area and bar organized and clean at all times.
  • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation.
  • Perform cashier duties, set up cash drawer, take payment, and return correct change.
  • Cash out at the end of the evening and ensure accurate bank reconciliation.
  • Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out, and receive payments from guests to expedite service.
  • Assist in daily operations, including serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones, as dictated by business volume.
  • Greet and seat customers, as required.
  • Open bar facilities, stock, and set up bar for service.
  • Perform shift opening tasks, including setting tables, opening doors, setting up service stations, and restocking menus.
  • Maintain good customer relations, interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner, and provide superior service to internal and external guests.
  • Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
  • Adhere to State Liquor Regulations, TIPS certification, and determine when customers should not be served alcohol.
  • Handle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration, safety, and knowing when to seek assistance.
  • Alert manager of inventory shortages of liquor, food, and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volume.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as any regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous cashiering experience required.
  • Current alcohol awareness training certification, preferred.
  • Must have at least one year of bartending experience.
  • Prior experience with RTP system preferred.
  • Must have an excellent welcoming, guest service attitude.
  • Must have a neat, clean appearance at all times, as per company standards.
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with SSRC's Service Excellence standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be minimum 21 years of age.
  • Stand for long periods of time and lift 60 lbs (cases of beverages, lifting kegs with help).
  • Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbally.
Miscellaneous Information

This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay. This position is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick, and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper.
