Job Overview

As a Systems Performance Engineer, you will analyze, design, and implement performance-critical systems that push the limits of our custom hardware platforms. Your expertise in low-level programming, assembly language, and performance optimization will be crucial in this role.

Responsibilities
  • You will develop and optimize low-level software for maximum performance across different architectures, including x86 and ARM.
  • Your skills in writing and analyzing hand-crafted assembly code will enable you to exploit hardware capabilities fully.
  • You will diagnose and mitigate performance bottlenecks using advanced profiling and debugging tools.
  • Collaboration with hardware engineers is essential to ensure software and hardware alignment for optimal performance.
  • You will optimize cryptographic algorithms and implementations, leveraging hardware-accelerated cryptographic instructions where applicable.
  • Analyzing and improving performance at the micro-architectural level, including pipelines, memory hierarchies, and instruction-level parallelism, will be part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • A deep understanding of how compiled languages translate to assembly instructions is necessary.
  • Proven experience in writing and optimizing hand-crafted assembly code for architectures such as x86 and ARM is required.
  • A strong programming background in C and C++ is essential.
  • Expertise with low-level debugging tools like GDB and LLDB is necessary.
  • Proficiency with performance profiling tools for diagnosing and addressing performance issues is required.
  • An in-depth understanding of pipelines, memory hierarchies, and parallel computing architectures is necessary.
  • Expertise in instruction-level optimizations and their impact on hardware performance is required.
Additional Desirable Skills
  • Experience with NVIDIA's PTX/SASS GPU assembly language would be beneficial.
  • A deep understanding of GPU memory models and programming paradigms could be advantageous.
  • Expertise in optimizing cryptographic implementations for performance would be valuable.
  • Familiarity with hardware-accelerated cryptographic instructions and their application could be useful.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
