Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ASIC Design Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for crafting special purpose cache and controllers that form part of the SOC memory hierarchy.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-bandwidth multi-client memory subsystems, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with every generation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore architecture trade-offs in system performance, area, and power consumption.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop/debug RTL design of different sections of the cache, ensuring efficient performance and low latency.
  2. Work closely with the physical design team to close timing and optimize the design for production.
  3. Collaborate with the performance analysis team to optimize system performance, area, and power consumption.
  4. Design and implement special purpose cache and controllers that meet the needs of various clients, including real-time, low latency, and high-bandwidth applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree + 10 Years of Experience in ASIC design, with a focus on memory systems, RTL/micro-architecture definition, and PPA analysis.
  • Strong understanding of cache design principles, including memory organizations and trade-offs.
  • Experience with multi-processor cache coherence protocols and dedicated coherent memory systems or interconnect architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with DRAM controllers and memory subsystems.
