We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ascension. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Operate radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic radiographs and images.
- Perform diagnostic procedures according to established standards and radiation safety practices.
- Work directly with patients, radiologists, physicians, and fellow associates to ensure seamless care.
- Follow established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Genesys Regional Medical Center.
- Deliver quality patient care, including the use of universal precautions, sterile technique, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Produce quality radiographs by selecting the appropriate technical factors, correctly positioning the patient, and manipulating equipment components properly.
- Represent the hospital in a positive manner, both in and outside the work area, and promote the image of the Radiology department and Genesys Regional Medical Center.
- Ensure proper patient identification prior to the exam and properly identify finished radiographs with patient name, medical record number, and date.
- Maintain adequate patient radiation protection to ensure the least possible exposure is given.
- Keep current on new developments, trends, equipment, and procedures through technical journals, educational programs, in-services, and seminars.
- Assist in the instruction and training of radiology students and new employees.
- Act as a technical resource for radiology residents and radiologists.
- Exercise independent judgment in the absence of management and report all equipment malfunctions to management or service representatives.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
- Maintain supplies necessary to perform the job.
- Assist with clerical duties and transportation of patients when required.
- Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices and protocols.
