The Butler Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals, including kennel areas, runs, treatment areas, and outside grounds.
- Feed and care for hospitalized animals and boarders, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
- Monitor and record important information about animal conditions, behavior, and habits.
- Walk animals three times a day to promote exercise and socialization.
- Notify veterinarians or veterinary technicians of any unusual medical or behavioral problems.
- Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily to maintain a sterile environment.
- Maintain laundry and inventory of supplies, including food, cleaning supplies, and laundry materials.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint and treatment.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage stressful situations.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Previous experience as a kennel assistant or similar role.
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
