Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide exceptional care to our furry friends, supporting veterinarians and technicians in various tasks, from cleaning and maintaining equipment to feeding, exercising, and handling pets.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care to pets, including feeding, exercising, and handling them
  • Support veterinarians and technicians with daily tasks, such as cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • Assist with pet restraint and maintain the cleanliness of the hospital
  • Complete a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, wards, and related areas
  • Follow a weekly and monthly chore list to maintain hospital cleanliness and appearance
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some experience working at a kennel or animal hospital preferred
  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, and unpleasant odors
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work weekends, overnights, and holidays
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy animals (up to 50 pounds)

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

This is a strenuous job that requires a lot of lifting, cleaning, and constant motion. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and interruptions. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our furry friends and supporting veterinarians and technicians in various tasks.
