Sonalysts, Inc. is in search of a seasoned professional with substantial expertise in electronics engineering to diagnose intricate testing apparatus and engage in the design and advancement of electronic control and measurement systems. We seek an individual who excels in a multidisciplinary setting and is adept at dividing their time among various functional domains related to control and feedback systems for power, electronics, and fluid management.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will work alongside a diverse team of engineers and subject matter experts to perform research, design, testing, and evaluation of electronic and electromagnetic systems, particularly focusing on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) controls and Signal Processing components. Your role encompasses all stages of system requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, and verification of system capabilities and components. General duties include:

  • Engaging in innovative research and Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) of contemporary system, software, hardware, and information assurance requirements.
  • Rapidly prototyping and testing system designs.
  • Analyzing electronic equipment performance and interfaces with the unit under test, including timing and signal characteristics assessment.
  • Executing obsolescence mitigation and redesign efforts.
  • Designing system components and producing engineering drawing packages and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the design, development, and/or testing of electromechanical systems.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering.
  • Familiarity with NI LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI.
  • Expertise in ATE design and development.
  • Experience with testing U.S. Navy torpedo systems, particularly the MK 48 Heavyweight Torpedo.
  • Knowledge in antenna, Radio Frequency (RF), and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) system design and development.
  • Experience with Electro-Optics, Infrared (IR), and/or mmWave radar design and development.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and designing a 5S work environment.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment and/or Department of Defense (DoD) engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer (or equivalent) including Schematics, Electronics, and/or Printed Circuit Board design packages.
  • Experience collaborating with Government agencies on development projects.
  • Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings and work packages.
  • Capability to use and interpret electronic test equipment.
  • Possession of an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
