Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field explorations, collect samples, and prepare field reports to support geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Develop and implement drilling techniques, including hollow stem auger, down-hole bucket auger, and rotary coring.
  • Organize and analyze laboratory data, conduct limited soil index property laboratory testing, and report results.
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Assist with business development and marketing activities, including cost proposal preparation.
  • Adhere to Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policy and promote Health & Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Geology or Engineering Geology.
  • 0-6 years of experience as a Geologist, including soil sampling and testing experience.
  • LG exam eligibility or preparation.
  • Experience in geologic interpretation using soil and rock samples, soil classifications, Puget Sound geology, and glacial geology.
  • Application to geotechnical engineering practice and observation of earthwork, pile/shaft foundation, and retaining structure construction.

  • Professional II range: $53,000 - $79,900
  • Professional III range: $60,000 - $90,600
  • Professional IV range: $67,000 - $101,400
