As a key member of the MW Industries team, the Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of our products. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods that meet customer requirements and optimize processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process Optimization: Assist in identifying and eliminating bottlenecks within the manufacturing process and recommend solutions to improve throughput and reduce labor and manufacturing costs.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate process flow and plant layout, recommending and implementing improvements and modifications in sequence of operations and equipment utilization.
- Training and Development: Train staff on new equipment and prepare specifications, operator instructions, and equipment manuals.
- Automation and Design: Design and develop automation processes and machinery to improve in-house production, including design, drawing creation, BOMs, and utilizing SolidWorks.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on cycle times and tool wear, and prepare production reports and other key metrics.
- Quality Assurance: Support QA on RMAs via failure analysis and recommend changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources.
- Maintenance and Improvement: Aid in the development of maintenance and building improvements and work with the CNC Lean Specialist to implement CNC automation initiatives.
- Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering and three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills and Abilities: Proficient to excellent skills working in SolidWorks, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as strong analytical skills, material knowledge, and troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
