Position Overview

HTC Global is seeking a full-time Senior Java Developer to design and implement Java-based web applications and services. This role involves collaboration with a team of application developers, engineers, and subject matter experts. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will engage in the development of new applications while also modernizing legacy systems. The applications will serve both client and internal users. A robust background in Java web development is mandatory, with a focus on Java web frameworks, particularly EJB and JSF. Authentication for external users and systems will utilize standards such as OATH2 or OpenAM. Our web applications and APIs will leverage Postgres for data storage and querying. Additionally, the role includes updating existing Java web applications to ensure they meet current functionality and user enhancement requests. The candidate will also contribute to the establishment of continuous integration and delivery pipelines within Amazon Web Services. Compliance with agency data security standards and the implementation of approved data encryption techniques are critical. This position allows for remote work, requiring the ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with the option for onsite presence as necessary.

Key Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with Java Core, Java EE (JEE), Java Persistence API (JPA), and Java Persistence Query Language (JPQL).
  • 5 years of experience with Java Server Faces (JSF) and Prime Faces.
  • 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL.
  • 5 years of experience in developing applications for Amazon Web Services.
  • 5 years of experience with Java RESTful Web Services.
  • Familiarity with Mirth Connect for data transmission channels.
  • Knowledge of WCAG compatibility and its application.
  • Additional experience in the following areas is advantageous:
  • Maven
  • GitHub and Agile Development methodologies
  • JUnit, Arquillian, or similar testing frameworks
  • JIRA
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)
  • Database schema design
  • Coordination of computer systems and application design
  • Software testing using appropriate methodologies and techniques
  • Data entry and maintenance in written or electronic form
  • Utilization of automated software applications
  • Logical problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Contribution to all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Support for continuous improvement initiatives, exploring alternatives and technologies for architectural review
  • Ensuring application designs align with business objectives
  • Analysis of user requirements to define business goals and implement them in applications
  • Ability to envision system features and functionalities
  • Application of the SAFe framework for project planning and prioritization

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
