Position Overview

HTC Global is seeking a full-time Senior Java Developer to create Java-based web applications and services. This role involves collaboration with a team of application developers, engineers, and subject matter experts. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new applications and updating legacy systems, ensuring they meet the needs of both clients and internal users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java web applications utilizing Java web frameworks, with a preference for EJB and JSF.
  • Implement authentication standards such as OATH2 or OpenAM for external users and systems.
  • Utilize Postgres for data storage and querying within web applications and APIs.
  • Enhance existing Java applications to ensure they meet current functionality and user requirements.
  • Contribute to the establishment of continuous integration and delivery pipelines within Amazon Web Services.
  • Adhere to agency data security standards and utilize approved data encryption techniques.
  • Work independently in a remote setting while managing time effectively, with the option to work onsite as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with Java Core, Java EE (JEE), Java Persistence API (JPA), and Java Persistence Query Language (JPQL).
  • 5 years of experience with Java Server Faces (JSF) and Prime Faces.
  • 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL SQL and plpgSQL.
  • 5 years of experience in developing applications for Amazon Web Services.
  • 5 years of experience with Java RESTful Web Services.
  • Familiarity with Mirth Connect for data transmission channels.
  • Knowledge of WCAG compatibility and its application.
  • Experience with the following is advantageous:
    • Maven
    • GitHub and Agile Development methodologies
    • JUnit, Arquillian, or similar testing frameworks
    • JIRA
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)
    • Database schema design
    • Coordination of computer systems and application design
    • Software testing using appropriate methodologies
    • Utilization of automated software applications
    • Logical problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Contribution to all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • Support for continuous improvement initiatives and technology exploration
    • Ensuring application designs align with business objectives
    • Analysis of user requirements to define business goals and implement them in applications
    • Ability to conceptualize system features and functionalities
    • Application of the SAFe framework for project planning and prioritization

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
