Daily Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the technological framework for our network of out-of-home service providers, which includes products and systems that facilitate our partnerships with daycare centers, preschools, camp providers, and other service-oriented businesses.

Key Projects:

  • Design, develop, and implement features across both front-end and back-end systems;
  • Integrate vital third-party services and APIs;
  • Maintain adequate automated testing coverage to ensure system reliability and uptime;
  • Effectively communicate progress and challenges with the engineering team and cross-functional partners;
  • Modernize several legacy systems, including those primarily built with Java/.NET and MySQL;
  • Expand our platform and introduce new functionalities.

Qualifications for Success:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development.
  • The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Ruby/Rails is essential, along with a willingness to explore other frameworks and technologies (e.g., Go, GitHub Actions);
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across engineering, product, and business teams;
  • A passion for developing new products and enhancing existing code through testing and refactoring;
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline;
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience with Heroku/AWS, Stripe, Solr, Minitest/Capybara, GitHub Actions, Java, and Postgres is advantageous but not mandatory.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000.

This salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary spectrum for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is one aspect of Care's total compensation package, which may also include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a generous 401K matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
