Position Overview

The SSMO Supervisor plays a pivotal role within the Installation Supply and Services Division, reporting directly to the Division Manager. This position entails comprehensive oversight of daily SSMO operations, requiring in-depth knowledge of supply and subsistence management protocols, relevant regulations, and ensuring meticulous accountability for all assigned assets.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Possess extensive knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures governing supply subsistence management.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Field Feeding and Operational Ration Programs, including the processes of ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and conducting inventories of operational rations, supplements, ice, and bottled water; oversee unit field accounts; and maintain contingency stocks.
  • Ensure effective management of the installation's supply, services, and equipment, adhering to relevant regulations and maintaining accountability for all assigned property.
  • Utilize analytical techniques and research skills to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements.
  • Exhibit operational proficiency in automated supply and service systems, along with strong verbal and written communication skills for effective meeting facilitation.
  • Manage postings to registers and ledgers.
  • Balance and reconcile financial accounts.
  • Alert management to any discrepancies or issues.
  • Understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Possess knowledge of standardized supply regulations and the ability to execute a variety of clerical tasks while resolving recurring issues.
  • Utilize the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) for transaction processing.
  • Access and manage the Subsistence Total Order Receipt Electronic System (STORES).
  • Download and upload catalogs from STORES to AFMIS for customer distribution.
  • Maintain accountability files in accordance with the Army Records Information Management System (ARMIS).
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, or logistics. One year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • Adhere to specific contractual education and experience requirements as applicable.
  • Possess a valid State Driver's License without restrictions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport.
  • Maintain driving privileges as required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role with comprehensive knowledge of supply subsistence management regulations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the Subsistence Total Order Receipt Electronic System (STORES) and the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS).

SKILLS:

  • Extensive knowledge of supply and subsistence management processes and regulations, ensuring accountability for all assigned property.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Operational expertise in automated systems.
  • Access to deployment information including dates, units, equipment, and locations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to problem-solve and conduct research based on applicable regulations.
  • Capable of briefing ongoing plans and operations.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of supply, services, maintenance, and transportation operations, as well as Army regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various personnel levels.

SUPERVISORY AND BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of approximately 7 personnel.
