The Lead Supply Chain Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing logistical operations, ensuring supply accountability, and enhancing asset visibility. This position requires the individual to act as the primary authority and team leader for all supply management activities within the warehouse, providing accurate data and insights to leadership when solutions are necessary. A comprehensive understanding of operational policies and supply procedures is essential to effectively support our clientele.

Key Responsibilities

This position description may be modified as needed to align with program or organizational requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Utilize the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) for the receipt, issuance, and storage of various repair parts.
  • Demonstrate versatility by working across different sections within the Supply Support Activity (SSA).
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of operational policies, procedures, and logistics objectives.
  • Conduct thorough inventories, including preparation, documentation, and reporting in accordance with established regulations.
  • Review completed transactions for accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the maintenance of property and equipment in compliance with Army regulations and operational standards.
  • Inspect incoming items against shipping documents and receipts to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain a tracking matrix and coordinate the shipment of materials for logistical support.
  • Oversee the packing and shipping of materials from current stock to various operational areas.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) with a capacity of 2,000-6,000 lbs.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) on forklifts as required.
  • Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned, which may change based on contractual obligations.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Standard office equipment and relevant computer applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests, steel-toed boots, gloves, hard hats, and eyewear in designated areas.
  • Compliance with health protocols, including wearing face masks in certain environments.
  • Work primarily occurs in a temperature-controlled office setting, with potential exposure to electronic equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions may occur.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Capability to operate in both warehouse and outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to walk on uneven terrain and navigate various work sites for extended periods.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State Driver's License without restrictions.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to maintain driving privileges on military installations.
  • Successful completion of a standard background check.
  • NAC-I clearance is mandatory.
  • Passage of a pre-employment drug test is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Forklift certification and operational experience are essential.
  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army and relevant regulatory supply systems.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and OSHA standards.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
