The Supply Subsistence Management Office (SSMO) Supervisor plays a crucial role, reporting directly to the Installation Supply and Services Division Manager. This position is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of daily SSMO operations, necessitating an in-depth understanding of supply and subsistence management protocols and relevant regulations to ensure accountability for all assigned assets.

Key Responsibilities

This role is dynamic and may evolve to meet program or organizational needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Possessing extensive knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures governing supply subsistence management.
  • Expertise in Field Feeding and Operational Ration Programs, including the processes of ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and inventorying operational rations, supplements, ice, and bottled water.
  • Ensuring effective management of the installation's supply, services, and equipment processes, maintaining accountability for all property.
  • Utilizing analytical techniques and research skills to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements.
  • Demonstrating operational proficiency with automated supply and service systems, along with strong communication skills for conducting meetings.
  • Managing financial records, including posting to registers and ledgers, balancing accounts, and addressing discrepancies.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Applying knowledge of standardized supply regulations and procedures to perform clerical tasks and resolve recurring issues.
  • Utilizing the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) for transaction processing.
  • Accessing and managing the Subsistence Total Order Receipt Electronic System (STORES) for catalog downloads and customer service.
  • Maintaining accountability files in accordance with Army Records Information Management System (ARMIS) standards.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, or logistics; one year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • Compliance with specific contractual education and experience requirements as applicable.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License without restrictions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to maintain driving privileges as necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role with a thorough understanding of supply subsistence management regulations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the Subsistence Total Order Receipt Electronic System (STORES) and the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS).

SKILLS:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply and subsistence management processes and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Operational proficiency with automated systems.
  • Access to deployment information including dates, units, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to solve problems and conduct research based on applicable regulations.
  • Capability to present ongoing plans and operations effectively.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with personnel at all levels.

SUPERVISORY AND BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of approximately 7 personnel.
