Chief Executive Officer - Living Threads

Founded in 2010, Living Threads is a faith-driven 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus through the provision of memory quilts for those in mourning, creating meaningful community for volunteers, and addressing the spiritual and physical needs of underprivileged children.

Living Threads is in search of a spiritually mature Chief Executive Officer who will be accountable for steering and executing strategies that resonate with the mission and vision of the organization. This role will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors. The CEO will guide and assess the strategic trajectory of the organization, oversee daily functions, identify and secure funding avenues, manage the operating budget, assist in recruiting, training, and supporting staff and volunteers, and cultivate collaborative partnerships while enhancing relationships with existing and prospective financial supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP

Uphold and embody the Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Core Values of Living Threads, maintaining the highest standards spiritually, relationally, and professionally.

Be an effective visionary, unifying staff and volunteers in the mission.

Provide strategic direction for current and long-term goals, objectives, plans, and policies in collaboration with and subject to Board approval.

Offer strong spiritual leadership across all programs, services, and activities to ensure alignment with the organization's mission.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Attend all Board meetings.

Prepare timely reports required by the Board, co-lead board meetings alongside the Chair, and assist in training new board members.

Act as an advisor to the Board on all organizational activities.

Collaborate closely with the Board to establish a vision and strategic plan for Living Threads and oversee its implementation.

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Effectively manage daily operations, including staff oversight and administrative responsibilities, while adhering to organizational policies.

Ensure the Living Threads culture is upheld by embodying the ministry values outlined in the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Core Values Statement.

Recruit, lead, train, and develop staff.

Plan, assign, and direct work, conduct performance evaluations, and engage with staff to remind them of the commitment to serve God and His people.

FINANCE

Collaborate with the Board Finance committee to prepare and establish an annual budget for Board approval.

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and special analyses.

Supervise the recording of donations in accounting and donor management software.

Ensure adherence to ethical and sound bookkeeping and accounting practices.

Apply for and maintain all necessary licenses and permits.

Negotiate leaseholder contracts.

FUNDRAISING & MARKETING

Serve on the Fundraising/Marketing Board sub-committee.

Develop strategies for future revenue-generating activities by leading fundraising and development initiatives.

Create marketing and public relations strategies.

Plan and implement special events.

Oversee the Living Threads website and all social media platforms.

Manage all communications distributed on behalf of the ministry, including newsletters, mailings, and emails.

Act as the spokesperson for the organization.

DONOR & PARTNER RELATIONS

Develop and nurture relationships with individual, corporate, church, and foundation partners.

Foster strategic partnerships to achieve the goals and mission of Living Threads.

Schedule and conduct meetings with donors.

Manage donors and donations using the current ministry donor software.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

An established, strong, and growing relationship deeply rooted in Jesus.

Able to affirm and embody the Living Threads mission, Statement of Faith, and Core Values.

3+ years of experience in a high-level position within a nonprofit organization, including program and fiscal management, staff supervision, and Board collaboration.

Possesses integrity, trustworthiness, and confidentiality.

Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills.

Highly relational, demonstrating Christ-like qualities such as compassion, love, appreciation, and care for each individual.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Comfortable engaging with donors and fundraising in a professional context.

Sewing/Quilting skills are not necessary for this position.

Punctual and reliable work attendance.
