We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Support Specialist to join our team at Communities In Schools North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating integrated student supports at schools within Cabarrus County Public Schools.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the implementation of the Communities In Schools Model and ensure quality and assurance standards are met.
- Collaborate with school staff to assess, identify, and prioritize student needs.
- Lead a School Support team responsible for planning and managing all CIS operations at the school site.
- Conduct annual needs assessments using multiple sources of data to inform the School Support Plan.
- Develop comprehensive School Support Plans, outlining interventions and supports using the ABC+P model.
- Provide case management to identified students and deliver evidence-based interventions and supports.
- Regularly collect, report, and interpret student data to inform program decisions.
- Monitor and adjust the progress toward meeting goals in the School Support Plan and individual student progress.
- Connect with parents or guardians of identified case-managed students.
- Provide timely reports with data and program information to direct supervisors.
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to students, families, and the community.
- Awareness and strong concern for the needs of children, youth, and their families.
- Understanding of school cultures and trends.
- Ability to work across teams and with multiple supervisors, both on and off-site.
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public administration, social services, or a related field.
- Certified/licensed professional preferred (e.g., teacher, social worker, counselor, mental health).
- 2 years of applicable work experience in the education, youth development, and/or mental health field.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and insurance.
- Technologically proficient in office technology systems, including developing spreadsheets, word processing, email, webinars, and Facetime.
- Previous experience in a student data or case management system highly preferred.
