Position Overview

The Technical Solutions Engineer will play a pivotal role in our engineering team, focusing on understanding client needs and delivering innovative technical solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of product functionalities to assess and enhance existing systems while driving improvements in our Motion product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate product application designs to ensure adherence to engineering standards and client specifications.
  • Utilize advanced ITW Tools to design and implement product applications tailored to customer needs.
  • Lead collaborative design efforts with clients and internal teams to ensure product feasibility and functionality.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or concerns that arise during the application process.
  • Collaborate with operations to prepare comprehensive cost analyses for new product initiatives.
  • Coordinate technical development activities, including scheduling and troubleshooting engineering challenges.
  • Assist in the review and approval process for design modifications and technical documentation.
  • Manage projects effectively by employing the APQP process in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Implement ITW Toolbox methodologies to ensure successful project execution from design through to production.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial constraints.
  • Support the corrective action process related to design and manufacturing issues.
  • Source competitive tooling quotes and manage the timing of tool production to meet project deadlines.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing their product and application requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for product enhancements and collaborate with various teams to implement improvements.
  • Conduct product and application testing to support research and development efforts and validate new solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks or CATIA).
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
