Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Solidworks to join our team at Konecranes Nuclear Equip and Services LLC. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing cranes, material handling equipment, and other devices using Solidworks. You will work in a structured 3D environment, collaborating with other engineers to share models and ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical drive systems, perform initial sizing calculations, and apply motors, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components.
  • Annotate drawings with standardized signs, including AWS D1.1 weld symbols and ANSI machining symbols, to clearly illustrate designs for customers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize components of mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate turn-key projects, including electrical, structural, civil, and installation crew.
  • Perform design changes to existing equipment for customer modernization projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to installation crew and customers.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use.
  • Optimize bridge girders, trolleys, and other crane components to reduce costs and improve delivery schedules.
Requirements
  • Self-motivated and display leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of ASME, AISC, and CMAA.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Solidworks or Pro-E.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including entrance to nuclear power plants.
