Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Solidworks to join our team at Konecranes Nuclear Equip and Services LLC. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing cranes, material handling equipment, and other devices using Solidworks. You will work in a structured 3D environment, sharing models with other engineers, and collaborating on turn-key projects. If you have a strong background in mechanical engineering, experience with Solidworks, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical drive systems and perform initial sizing calculations to apply motors, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components.
  • Annotate drawings with AWS D1.1 weld symbols, ANSI machining symbols, and other standardized signs to clearly illustrate designs for customers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize all components of mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on turn-key projects, including electrical, structural, civil, and installation crew.
  • Perform design changes to existing equipment for customer modernization projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to installation crew and customers.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use.
  • Optimize bridge girders, trolleys, and other crane components to reduce costs and improve delivery schedules.
Requirements
  • Self-motivated with leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of ASME, AISC, and CMAA.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Computer literacy in Excel and Word.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or Pro-E.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including entrance to nuclear power plants.
