Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing complex laboratory procedures and analyzing results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including testing and analysis of patient samples.
- Interpret and analyze results, providing accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals.
- Identify and correct problems within the scope of training and education, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate lab equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Perform, record, and evaluate Quality Control, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist Lead, Supervisor, or Manager with inventory, schedules, and safety, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
- Conduct competency assessments, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP).
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program.
- Preferred: completion of an externship program.
