We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, including testing and analyzing patient samples.
- Identify and correct problems within the scope of training and education.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate lab equipment.
- Perform, record, and evaluate Quality Control.
- Assist Lead, Supervisor, or Manager with inventory, schedules, and safety.
- Conduct competency assessments.
- Develop and evaluate new methods of testing, depending on experience and position.
- MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP).
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry through a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program.
- Externship program completion (preferred).
