Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at WVU Medicine. As an Emergency Department Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities

Observe and report patient concerns and changes in condition to registered nurses immediately.
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, as well as general patient care duties.
Record vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and provide other patient comfort measures.
Assist with specimen collection and other activities related to patient care.
Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent and control infections and ensure patient safety.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date required.
Two years of college in an applicable field or two years of experience in an Emergency Department or pre-hospital setting preferred.

Working Environment

Work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a team of healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with registered nurses and other medical staff to provide high-quality patient care.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment to prevent and control infections.
