Creative Financial Staffing is proud to partner with a long-standing non-profit organization in Bethesda, Maryland, to fill an exciting opportunity for an AP Specialist.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days spent in our client's MD office and 3 days working remotely. A laptop will be provided to ensure seamless productivity.

The pay for this position is $27-31 per hour, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This is a temporary position, but we anticipate it becoming permanent for the right candidate. Our client values promoting from within and encourages professional growth.

Overview of the AP Specialist Role

The AP Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Processing international payments
  • Reviewing invoices, making copies, and sending them to the appropriate departments
  • Reviewing check requests, date-stamping, and invoices
  • Matching invoices and determining account coding
  • Inputting all vendor invoices into the system
  • Balancing, editing, and approving batches, then posting to the AP system
  • Reviewing aging and determining invoices to be paid. Printing reports
  • Generating checks in accordance with issuing guidelines
  • Recording manual checks daily
  • Preparing check vouchers and submitting for approvals
  • Addressing employee and vendor inquiries regarding payments
  • Reconciling vendor accounts
  • Reviewing and processing employee expense reports
Preferred Qualifications for the AP Specialist

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-4 years of AP experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • International payment experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively and maintain attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and be detail-oriented
