The Physical Education Instructor delivers a high-quality, tailored educational program in general children's physical education within a close-knit school environment where every student is recognized and valued as an individual.

What You Will Do:
  • Assist in cultivating a culture of high expectations that embodies the shared belief that every student will attend college.
  • Under the general supervision of the principal, coordinate physical activities in alignment with State Standards.
  • Refine and adapt physical education activities based on student needs, capabilities, interests, performance levels, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance practices throughout the school; share effective strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and their families regarding activities and student progress.
  • Engage parents and guardians as partners in their students' educational journey.
  • Manage student behavior to ensure full engagement from every student.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and work closely with lead educators and the principal.
  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Aspire Public Schools.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and Home Office to achieve site and organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools' mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and ethical behavior codes.
  • Perform additional related duties as required and assigned.
What You Will Bring:
  • Ability to organize and lead games and exercise activities for students.
  • Knowledge of child development and various learning styles.
  • Willingness to implement best practices.
  • Commitment to reflect on and improve practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.
  • Proficient computer and Internet research skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • California teaching authorization in physical education.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with children.
