About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic After School Instructor to join our team at EDMO. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for teaching and developing our STEAM/SEL curriculum for students in our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students, incorporating our STEAM/SEL curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and productive learning environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Interact with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders in a professional and energetic manner, fostering strong relationships and a sense of community.
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Assist in planning and implementing program activities, events, and special projects, ensuring alignment with EDMO's mission and values.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in teaching, curriculum development, and youth education.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with groups of students, preferably in an educational or youth development setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Must complete Livescan and TB test; willingness to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in STEAM/SEL Education: Previous experience teaching or working with STEAM/SEL curriculum, or a strong background in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
  • Teaching Credentials: Possession of teaching credentials or units towards credentials, or a strong desire to pursue teaching certification.
  • Program Management: Experience managing programs, events, or projects, with a focus on youth education and development.
