LifeBridge Health is seeking a skilled Cytologist to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Cytologist will be responsible for preparing and screening all cytologic specimens, assisting on fine needle procedures, and interpreting findings under the direction of a pathologist. The Cytologist will follow laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and screen all cytologic specimens
- Assist on fine needle procedures
- Interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures
- Determine that test results meet requirements of the quality control program
- Repeat tests and ensure results are approved for reporting
- Maintain all necessary records and documentation
- Required Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, one of the specialties in Cytology, or one of the chemical sciences
- 2-4 years of experience
- Cytologist - Board Registered or specialist in Cytology by recognized credentialing board
- Eligible to become Registered
- LC - Licensed Cytologist
- Interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to effectively interact with hospital personnel and outside contacts
