Salary:

Key Responsibilities:


Develop innovative design concepts and solutions from foundational principles to fulfill project and client specifications, supported by sketches, calculations, and relevant documentation.

Prepare and deliver engineering documentation for internal assessments and client presentations. Review and validate datasets (drawings/MBD) to ensure compliance with standards and accurate representation of design intent.

Identify, outline, and oversee work packages to mitigate risks in product design early in the development phase.

Utilize appropriate tools (e.g., DOORS) to validate and verify requirements, managing these throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Collaborate effectively across all engineering disciplines, engaging with technical experts as necessary.

Supervise the activities of mechanical engineers and technicians, assuming technical accountability for the design solutions and technical documentation produced.

Conduct peer reviews of the work completed by other mechanical engineers, including designs, design data, calculations, and technical reports.


Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
Fulfill the criteria of UK-SPEC at the Chartered Engineer Level.

Proven history of product development from conception to production, demonstrating strong technical capability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve challenges, including new technologies and innovations for complex engineering systems.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience, with the ability to apply physics and engineering principles to develop/validate designs.

Proficiency in CAD software (CREO) for creating design models and technical datasets (drawings/MBD) is essential.

Desirable:


Experience in fields such as avionic systems, optical displays, mechatronics, electronics packaging, anthropometrics, composite design, additive manufacturing, and testing equipment.

Ability to utilize specialized dynamic, structural, and thermal analysis tools, including validating the outputs of these tools.

The Design Team:


This position will provide Mechanical Engineering support for the design and development of innovative products, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and refurbishment of existing solutions.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will drive innovation and collaborate with other Engineers/Technicians to transform ideas into detailed designs supported by calculations and reports to ensure compliance with requirements, including necessary risk reduction testing.

The expectation is to deliver high-quality service to clients, on schedule and within budget with minimal oversight.
