Job Overview: In this entry-level role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen appliances. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn and enhance their skills in a vibrant and expanding industry. You will collaborate closely with seasoned technicians to gain practical experience and receive thorough training on a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and setup of commercial kitchen appliances, ensuring they operate correctly and comply with safety regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on kitchen equipment, identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Troubleshoot and repair various types of kitchen equipment under the supervision of senior technicians, utilizing essential tools and diagnostic instruments.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and others.
- Keep accurate records of work completed, repairs made, and parts utilized.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing clear information regarding equipment status and necessary repairs.
- Assist senior technicians with special projects and larger installations, gaining exposure to more complex tasks and systems.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of tools and mechanical skills.
- Experience in a commercial kitchen setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn and take guidance from experienced technicians.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in diverse conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Manual dexterity and proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
