Job Title: Associate Director Finance

Johns Hopkins University is seeking an experienced Associate Director Finance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects related to the non-sponsored financial portfolios for the departments within the consortium.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist departments in overseeing all aspects of financial management, planning, and strategy.
  • Work closely with Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) and departmental leadership to achieve financial success.
  • Create and maintain an infrastructure to effectively support the financial management needs of the Departments.
  • Lead the adaptation of this support structure as new business needs are identified.
  • Supervise a team of individuals in the areas of financial management and analysis.
  • Provide performance reports to department administration, directors, and faculty leadership.
  • Create and report on sophisticated financial models related to ongoing performance and strategy with faculty compensation programs, revenue generation, expense management, and programmatic growth.
  • Lead the Departments' efforts to align with the financial integration project led by the CFO of JHM and the JHU Controller's office.
  • Coordinate with the School of Medicine Finance Team related to the approach and final presentation of data.
  • Accountable for creation of financial analyses under the Departments' initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Research Administration, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of progressive management experience in higher education finance or administrative roles.
  • Demonstrated competency in supervising and developing support staff and professional staff toward creating and sustaining an effective and productive workforce.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
