Job Summary

North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Housing Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to secure and maintain independent housing, leveraging expertise in the housing and subsidy process to facilitate movement into permanent housing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients to identify personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests to establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Provide direct care services in a timely and flexible manner, collaborating with clients and team staff to apply for housing subsidies and decent affordable housing.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Safety Plans and Crisis Prevention and Response Plans to mitigate risk factors.
  • Act as a liaison with DMH, staff, family members, advocates, and local, state, and federal housing staff and programs as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing affordable housing and/or housing support experience required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal housing subsidy processes and DHCD and DND protocols.
