Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests and clinical activities to assess and treat patients with respiratory problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function testing, to aid in the management and diagnosis of patients.
  • Assess patient's pulmonary status using basic skills, including reviewing medical charts, patient interviews, physical examinations, and interpretation of blood gases.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment used for diagnostic testing, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Document services provided, changes in patient clinical status, and therapeutic objectives to contribute to effective communication within the department.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining clinical competency through continuing education, professional growth, and development.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program of Respiratory Care and current active license by the State of Connecticut as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required, Certified and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT/RPFT) preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with experience in Pulmonary Function preferred.
