Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Johnson County Government. As a key member of our Facilities Department, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs, as well as preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and building infrastructure.
  • Assist skilled workers with tasks and keep them supplied with materials and tools.
  • Complete special projects, including commercial snow removal, and escort vendors performing contracted services within secured areas.
  • Operate a variety of light and medium-duty equipment, including tractors, trucks, scissor lifts, and snow removal equipment.
  • Complete paperwork, work orders, timesheets, and equipment logs using a computerized system.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal history screening and have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a variety of environments, including extreme temperatures, heights, and loud noises. The ability to lift 50 pounds and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) is also required.

This is a full-time position that requires on-call/stand-by work and overtime as needed. All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
