Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Qual Pac Kansas is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and sweepers.
  • Document records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Select repair parts and update parts records.
  • Repair mechanical damage and replace defective parts, including welding, brazing, and soldering.
  • Maintenance and repair of batteries and chargers.
  • Apply mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, building construction, and other warehouse maintenance/repair situations.
  • Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and other diagnostic aids in the scope of troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication work.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Familiar with mechanical hand tools, and with measuring (tape measures, micrometers, drill gauges, etc.).
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Requirements:
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of high-voltage wiring (480V 3-phase motors).
  • Multi-craft maintenance and repair (e.g., performing interrelated repairs on electrical systems and mechanical systems).
  • Willingness to work under pressure to fix equipment.
  • Work urgently to get the equipment back up and running.
  • Troubleshooting issues on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Will conduct repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
  • Ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Responding to maintenance calls is part of your job, and this can sometimes mean helping complete a repair that has already been started.
  • You will inspect machines, develop repair lists, and identify short-term and long-term repairs so that machines run correctly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some college is desirable.
  • Fluent in Spanish, both written and verbal, is considered an asset.
